Club Activities

Acceptance of new members respecting the “A new member every month”. Up to 31 March 2002 11 new members were accepted. First time in the Club history 2 women were accepted.
Preparation and receiving the chart of Interact Club Bourgas on 30.10.2001.
Preparation of Rotary Clubs in Pomorie and Sozopol. Rotary Club of Pomorie received the chart on 11 May 2002. An initiation group was established in Sozopol.
Preparation and creation of initiation groups for club establishment in Ajtos, Tsarevo and Primorsko. Information materials has been prepared.
Publishing of the first Club bulletin in April 2002 - The Magazine Month.
Marking off the Rotary Anniversary and the World Understanding and Peace Day (23 February).
Monthly celebration of name- and birthdays.
Regular visits to Club meetings of Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Bourgas and the Rotary Club in Pomorie.
Carrying out of 2 inquiries in order to improve the club life and make it more interesting.
Awarding of Club members with most regularly visits of Club meetings.
The average monthly visiting rate of regular weekly meetings in the period 01.07.-31.03.2001 is 78.62 %.

Community Activities

In October 2001 the Matching Grant Project N 15285 with Rotary Club Bad Kissingen, Germany was realized. A bus for the Orphanage House Roncalli in Bourgas in the amount of 28 000 DM was delivered.
Continuing of common activities with RC Lekkerkerk, Netherlands, RC Stade, Germany and other Clubs in both countries by relaizing the Matching Grant Project N 16362 for renovation of Alexander Georgiev Kodzhakafaliyata Orphanage in Bourgas. The Matching Grant is in the amount of  48 300 USD.
Working on the Matching Grant program in Bulgaria with participation of Rotary Clubs in Sliven, Yambol and Nessebar. Ideas about project aim has been discussed and one of them is the creation of a commune for cure of drugs dependant people.
Looking for donors for the Orphanage in Bata village and Old people House in Laka village. Mike and Christine Dagwell, members respective of Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs in Hull, England, sent 526 packets (4388 kg) of humanitarian aid (clothes, shoes, toys, towels, sewing machines and material, etc.) to Mother and Child House - Bourgas, Children's House - Podvis village, Sturche House - Sredets, Children's House - Bata village, Nadezhda House - Bourgas, Old people House - Laka village.
Continuing the work on Chorelov program. Rotary Club Bourgas assures the transport, stock and distribution of medicines and equipment for hospitals in Bourgas and the region, sent by Association of Rotary Clubs in France and organized by Dr. Chorelov. The aid is in the amount of 1 200 000 USD.
Start of a new program "Aid for physical disabled children". The funds collecting started during the Christmas charity cocktail in December 2001.
Reviving of the Anti Drugs program. A lecture with lectures Dr. Loris Sayan was organized for the members of Rotaract and Interact Clubs. An inquiry in some schools was made. Deputy Mayor for education and culture was invited to lead a lecture about drugs prevention in the schools.


International Activities

Work with RC Bad Kissingen - Germany.
Work with RC Lekkerkerk - Netherlands, Stade - Germany anf other Clubs interested in supporting the Alexander Georgiev Kodzhakafaliyata Orphanage in Bourgas. Visits of groups from RC Lekkerkerk in March and RC Stade in May 2002.
Work with Bob Cochrane from RC Exmouth, England on the Free Computers for Education project.
Work with Mike Dagwell from RC Hull, England to support social houses in the region.
Visit to RC Kirklareli, Turkey in February and establishment of durable fellowship contacts.
Contacts to the Clubs in Raymond Terrace and Richmond Hill, Australia.
Assuring the participation of two Rotarian's kids in the Youth Exchange Program.
Support and development of the Club web site.
Help and support the authorities in the frames of Polio Plus program.

Vocational Activities and Rotary Foundation

Conducting of  “7 1/2 ” program (every Club member represents the own profession for 7 1/2 minutes).
Realizing of cycle of lectures about Rotary Foundation and the programs of this Foundation.
Nomination of a candidate for the Ambassadorial Scholarship program of Rotary Foundation.
Nomination of Paul Harris Fellows - P. Yovchev and R. Angelov.
Working on a program to assure 1000 USD for Rotary Foundation.
Founding the Nikolai Iskarov Award for young poets. Financing the issue of the last book of Nikolai Iskarov.
Holding of a discussion about rap and the modern music together with Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Bourgas with guests Roumaneca and Enchev.
