Activities 2002 - 2003 Rotary Year


 





I. Club service Committee - Chairman Rumen Angelov

1. Acceptance of new members. Term - permanent.
2. Preparation of 3 new Rotary Clubs: Ajtos, Bourgas, Sozopol. Term - April/June 2003.
3. Preparation and publishing of a Club bulletin. Term - April 2003.
4. Holding of a general club meeting and Board ballot for 2003/04. Term - 16.12.2002.
5. Mention of substantial events:
5.1. 65 years of presenting the Chart to the first Rotary Club in Bourgas (27.08.1937) - setting of some promotional inscriptions (blinds) in the city; publishing of articles about Rotary Club Bourgas in local newspapers - history and activities; publishing of information about Club history in "Rotary Bulgaria" magazine; organizing of exhibition-bazaar and charity cocktail.
5.2. 10 years of presenting the Chart to Rotary Club Bourgas (18.01.1993 г.) - publishing of article about Rotary Club Bourgas in local issues - Club activities dedicated to community.
5.3. Celebrating of 23.02 - Anniversary of Rotary International and World Understanding and Peace Day.
The events, described in point 5.2 and 5.3 would be marked by a joint charity cocktail - proposed terms - 31.01.2003 or 07.02.2003.
6. Preparation the visit of DG D2480 in Bourgas. Term - December 2002.
Ensure the participation of Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Bourgas in charity actions of Rotary Club Bourgas and supporting the activities of both clubs. Term - permanent. Realization of a joint meeting with Rotaract Club Bourgas in connection with World Rotaract Week (week of 13 March).
7. Establishing of procedure for joyful and sad rituals for Rotarians and Club sponsors. Term - March 2003.
8. Creation of Club Archive: discovering and making copies of documents from Club history; collecting of publications and photos about Club activities. 
9. Organizing a press conference and publishing of articles in local issues and "Rotary Bulgaria" magazine about Rotary Club Bourgas - results of the Orphanage project (MG 16362). Term - 31.10.2002.
10. Currently informing of local media and "Rotary Bulgaria" magazine about Club activities. Term - permanent.

II. Community service Committee - Chairman Krasimir Ganchev
1. Continuing the realization of the common activities with RC Lekkerkerk - Netherlands, Stade - Germany and other Clubs in those countries to realize a Matching Grant project about reconstruction of second floor of "Alexander Georgiev - Kodzhakafaliyata" in Bourgas.
2. Preparation of joint project with Clubs sponsored by RC Bourgas (RC Yambol, Sliven, Nessebar, Pomorie). Term - May 2003.
3. Program for supporting the Orphanages in Bata village, Sredets and House "Nadezhda" - Bourgas. 
4. Conducting of Christmas charity action for collecting clothes, etc. for social houses in the region. Term - 20.12.2002.
5. Carrying out of a Christmas charity cocktail and art auction. Term - 20.12.2002.
6. Continuing the work on the "Chorelov" program - receiving and distributing of medical goods given by Rotary Clubs in France for the hospitals in the region. Term - permanent.
7. Start of "Help for disabled children" Club program.

III. International Service Committee - Chairman Svetoslav Donev
1. Contacts to RC Lekkerkerk - Netherlands, Stade - Germany and other Clubs interested to help the Al. Georgiev orphanage in Bourgas. Term - permanent.
2. Ensuring the participation of children in the Youth Exchange program. Term - December 2002.
3. Keeping contacts to Rotary Clubs Raymond Terrace and Richmond Hill, Australia. Term - permanent.
4. Establishing contacts with Rotary Club in Russia. Term - April 2003.
5. Go deep in contacts with RC Kyrklareli and Yalova in Republic Turkey. Visits in Istanbul and Yalova. Term - May 2003.
6. Support of the Club web site. Term - permanent.
7. Help and support the authorities in the frames of Polio Plus campaign and "Anti drugs" Club Program. Term - permanent.
8. Taking information from HEI and other sources about dissemination and cure of polio in Bulgaria, ensuring of a lecturer from HEI on this theme (together with Vocational Service Committee). Term - November 2002.
9. Publishing of information about Rotary Foundation programs, realized projects, and Polio Plus program. Term - November 2002.

IV. Vocational Service Committee - Chairman Nikolai Bonchev
1. Preparation and realization of plans and activities to support club members by their participation in projects, connected with their vocation and in the daily application of its principles on their place of work as well.
2. Planning of programs and activities for the Vocational Service Month (October).
3. Development of projects and programs, what heighten the knowledge about and increase the respect to different professions.
4. Emphasize on the value of all useful professions in the community.
5. Lectures, planned for the period October 2002 - January 2003 are as follows:
5.1. Dr. Georgi Matev - Problems by organ donation in Republic Bulgaria.
5.2. Ilko Bonev - Gold production in Bourgas region.
5.3. Emil Hristov - Problems with dissemination of drugs in Bourgas County.
5.4. Ivan Vitanov - Regional projects in Bourgas County.
5.5. Arh. Petko Yovchev - The new Bourgas Free University Building (project).
5.6. Svetozar Benchev - Participation in exhibitions 2001-2002
5.7. Veselin Grigorov - Work of the BNT correspondent office in Bourgas
5.8. Nikolai Bonchev - "Hemus Mark" AD - a prosperous enterprise in Bourgas
5.9. Stefan Valchev - The extension of Port Bourgas
Lectures would be held every two weeks, with exception of October - Vocational Service Month , when they would be held every week.
